Leaning Juniper III - Jones Canyon Substation expansion Interconnection Iberdrola Renewables Inc., requested integration of another 200 MW of power generated from the Leaning Juniper II Wind project. This project is in Gilliam County, Ore., and would connect to the Federal Columbia River Transmission System (FCRTS) at Jones Canyon Substation. Interconnection would require BPA to expand the 230-kV substation yard at Jones Canyon for termination of this project and to add controls and metering. Iberdrola will build a new collector substation adjacent to the existing Jones Canyon Substation. Schedule BPA is conducting an environmental analysis and will accept comments on the proposed interconnect through Feb. 2, 2009. Iberdrola proposes to begin commercial operation of this 200 MW project in late 2009. Here is a link to more information
