Wind Projects

Golden Hills

BPA has been asked by BP Alternative Energy to interconnect up to 200 megawatts of electricity generated from their proposed Golden Hills Wind Project in Sherman County, Ore. to the Federal Columbia River Transmission System. BP Alternative Energy would independently build, own and operate the wind project and associated facilities.

The Oregon Energy Facility Siting Council (EFSC) has siting and approval jurisdiction over the proposed wind project. If the project is approved, BPA proposes to construct additional equipment at the existing Biglow Canyon Substation.

Schedule

BPA has evaluated the impacts of this interconnection and in August 2009 decided to interconnect this wind project in a Record of Decision. Comments were accepted through June 30, 2008. Construction begins in August 2009 and will continue through 2010.
