A mixture of clay, rocks, dirt and ground water creates a mound of slough as construction crews drill for a footing hole. Substation in the vicinty of the Albany-Eugene transmission line. Crews drill through the ground to create a location for tower footings. Rocks fly as crews use a huge auger to drill a hole in the ground for a new tower footing. Crews measure a hole that will hold a caisson for a new steel tower foundation.
Crews lift the bolt cage to be positioned in the hole. Crews slowly raise the botl cage up for placement. Crews position the bolt cage over the hole and carefully lower it in. Crews were able to successfully lower bolt cage in, and position and level it.
