Hooper Springs-Lower Valley Energy (formerly Caribou-Lower Valley Energy)
BPA is proposing to build a new 138/115-kilovolt substation near Soda Springs in southeastern Idaho. BPA also proposes to partially fund construction by Lower Valley Energy of a new 22-mile, double-circuit 115-kV transmission line. BPA is responding to a request from LVE to help improve the stability and reliability of the transmission system in southeastern Idaho.
Schedule
BPA has completed a preliminary environmental assessment for Hooper Springs Substation and Lower Valley Energy's line and invites your comments through May 29, 2009. If BPA decides to proceed with this project, construction on the substation and transmission line could begin in summer 2009.
