Fighting Hunger
In partnership with the Oregon Food Bank (OFB), 500 pounds of food was donated to the OFB this year. Since 1996, OFB has
increased their food donations by 30 percent. The OFB has worked in partnership with more than 800 agencies and food
banks to collect, process and distribute over 55 million pounds of food annually. Last year, the OFB network supplied 652,000
people with emergency food boxes.
Most recently, Transmission Services employees partnered with the OFB and were able to contribute 470 pounds of food. Employees were
excited to be a part of the company wide, bi-annual event, and generously donated their can foods, top ramen, box meals
and desert mixes. Many accepted the peanut butter and jelly challenge and rationed their lunch expenses to donate a
portion of the savings to the food drive effort. To find about upcoming volunteer opportunities visit the
Oregon Food Bank website or call (503) 282-0555.
